Info: How do I make food look the way I do?

The food that I photograph is real. Most of the time it is eaten by someone after the photoshoot. I enjoy the process of collaborating with art directors whether they are on location with me or via digital communications. I welcome the opportunity to work with stylists although I rarely get the opportunity due to the photojournalistic nature of most of my assignments.
A majority of the time I am photographing in a restaurant, home kitchen or right out on the street at a market.
I really enjoy working with Chefs. I find that it works best to have them prepare the dish as they typically do so it reflects their style and how it is usually viewed. Once the dish is prepared I make any needed adjustments to the food and setting so that it looks just right for the camera.
